Kudos to the people who mentioned fireworks as the solution before it was revealed this episode.

The townsfolk who were not in on the plan must have had quite the jumpsare when the fireworks went off though. :P

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 month ago

I'm more surprised that Theodore's followers could change literal bombs into fireworks in time lol

Azureink • 1 month ago

Maybe they ripped out the detonators, tossed the explosives in an extra rocket housing with various metals so they would launch them as fireworks. It might not be rocket science to make the adjustments.

norigami • 1 month ago

Yes but, literally rocket science!

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 month ago

Strangely enough, Rocket-Science is still a lot less complex than science that deals with Levitation-Technologies and other things related to Zero-Point-Energy;

I mean, I used to think that Doctors, Lawyers, Professors, Scientists and Engineers were the smartest people in the world, but, that actually only applies to a very small handful-percentage of them; putting this into perspective, the ability to «regurgitate» what already exists in encyclopaedias is one thing, but, the ability to come up with creative-solutions that are not written in any encyclopaedias and are not taught at any «schools» is what I now deem to be a TRUE measure of intelligence

With the over 70 years worth of technological-advancements and scientific-progress coming out of the U.S. alone, not even counting the other couple hundreds of other countries around the world, that is already more-than-enough accumulated knowledge that should be able to solve literally every existing world-problem;

Although this show has a handful of plot-holes, to its credit, they are kept to a minimum in comparison to the number of plot-holes that I tend to notice in other shows/series, and, this is a good depiction of how it is the change in psychology in the world-affairs that we live in that is needed the most of all, especially given the mass-existence of all of the «nuclear» war-heads and weaponry that could instead be converted into something beneficial and useful in the manner that Rishe had done with the Gun-Powder...

Dreamblade • 1 month ago

We should use all the nukes to make nuclear fireworks! :D

Wolf And....Run!!!!!!!!!! • 1 month ago

"why wait for a doomsday when you can go out with a (pretty) bang" XD

Nora • 1 month ago

What plot holes do you see?

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 month ago

One was her accumulated Wisdom where she didn't counter Alchemist-Sensei's claim that the purpose of those born to destroy is to destroy with something like how their counter-parts would also exist such as those born to heal or prevent destruction also have their own role(s) to fulfill, from the previous episode, but, that was explained in this Episode, that, convincing him could not be done with just words alone nor solely from intellectual-debate, but, that it needed to be shown and demonstrated to him with results.

For the other major plot-hole it would be easier to point you to this mini-thread at https://gogoanime.vc/loop-7-kaime-no-akuyaku-reijou-wa-moto-tekikoku-de-jiyuu-kimama-na-hanayome-seikatsu-wo-mankitsu-suru-episode-11#comment-6416028010

kitemay • 4 weeks ago

use nukes to blast incoming space rocks that are big enough to do real damage for example

Shogo • 1 month ago

Everything was prepared beforehand by MC. They didn't use the actual bombs for the fireworks.

Shogo • 1 month ago

If you watch closely, they didn't convert the bombs into fireworks - they replaced the bombs with actual fireworks created by MC. The bomb shown had a bullet-shaped shell, while the fireworks were ball-shaped. The cannons from which the fireworks were launched, are shown at 07:42, in the young prince's office. Everything was prepared beforehand.

FoxbytheSea • 3 weeks ago

Still to find people without any kind of knowledge, and entrust them to disarm 3 time bombs from which you aint even sure how to disarm yourself. and none of them goes off in the city is very unbelievable. It does have some "plot holes" but this is just a fantasy anime with a lovely story, nice characters and great reflections

If I didn't know better, it might be magic projectiles raining down on people

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 month ago

Except «magic» was not part of this series ?

Shogo • 1 month ago

Reincarnating 7 times is kind of magical, don't you think?

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 month ago

I don't consider that magic, and, you can read about both actual re-incarnation research and actual time-loop-repeat phenomenon (at least for earth-bound-spirits) in this book that I recommend which will help to explain why it does not come across as magic... https://www.amazon.com/You-Cannot-Die-Incredible-Findings/dp/1894042093/
(And it seems like there have been recent efforts to remove this book from listings or availability so it is best you try to get a copy or find it for reading at a library if possible before its contents become unavailable due to the proliferation of modern-day book-burning)

Although, this show does deviate from the scientific-research in the sense that she continued to have such clear and vivid-memories of her past-life-experiences; and in the sense that she was altering the results of what would otherwise have been a repeat of having simply done the same things before without any re-collection of having already lived the same life in repeat in what I would term to be something like a time-loop-phenomena that really is an actual after-life condition that some people do find themselves experiencing in the «after-life» which can go on for literal centuries of them not even knowing that they had actually «died» centuries ago.

Dreamblade • 1 month ago

Uh, I would still consider that magic haha.

Ouma Yuu • 1 month ago

It's better than the fire nation attacking.

Lol yeah I thought there'd be more people running out thinking they were being bombed or something.

Unlikely when they don't know what bombs are

Oh yeah that's true.

I have to keep reminding myself this is not an isekai where someone from the modern world gets transported to an earlier time, that this is an isekai where someone loops the same five years and that the fireworks were something that she figured out/saw in a previous life.

Same. I was like yeah yeah, gunpowder to fireworks gimme something new. Wait a minute, she's not like Elize and saw fireworks before. There were glimpses in previous episodes that she actually was studying the right amounts of each metal to turn gunpowder in usable and safe fireworks. She had no wikipedia/google walkthroughs, not even books to consult, she might not even have seen the end product beforehand. I don't know much about the art of fireworks, but I do know that the quality is dependent on the accuracy of the amounts of metals and it was animated like typical Japanese fireworks, which means, perfect aspect ratio!!! And I doubt she used a calculator for it as well. I'm actually surprised she had accurate enough scales or is that just plothole/anime logic 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Azureink • 1 month ago

I vaguely recall her asking to use the jewelers tools once. Maybe she purchased various tools from her merchant friend so she could do things like that. She must have had tools for her medicine making.

Eldershield • 1 month ago

Honestly despite knowing it, it’s still impressive she managed to do fireworks on her own. Also that scene at the end was the best

Matthew Kuza • 1 month ago

Fireworks = (another) perfect Rishe solution

Sakura2020 • 1 month ago

Do you remember any other fantasy anime actually using GUN POWDER ?
Usually they are medieval before the use of guns, cannons & gun powder (or fireworks)

Azureink • 1 month ago

I feel like there are fantasy anime with magic and guns and/or magic guns.

I know there is at least one fantasy anime with magic and mecha.

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 month ago

Good to know that my project(s) continue(s) to remain unique until I finally get to its future-release/publication(s).

Salim • 1 month ago

Idk if it can be considered fantasy, but Dr stone has it.

Nora • 1 month ago

Post apocalyptic

Sojtus • 1 month ago

From the top of my head, the world from Realist hero already had gun powder prior to him coming to the world.

Though it was rarely used on land because magic could outperform it in both mobility and firepower and defense magic could block most projectiles. It was mostly only used in naval warfare since magic on open sea was weaker and ships could carry big guns while still being mobile.

Sakura2020 • 1 month ago

Recently I watched Berserk & Ishura and both use gun powder in weapons. Ishura has other modern technology in a fantasy setting, like shortwave radio & Braille for writing

Nora • 1 month ago

Ishura

Sojtus • 1 month ago

While it was obvious fireworks was where the plot line was going, it is really only a stop gap solution at best. The Pandora´s box has been opened and even the idea of weaponising it is already floating around.

Dgentleasian • 1 month ago

Though it is naive to think people won't make use of the black powder for military use. Maybe its mentioned in the novel but it seems our MC is from modern earth. Just cuz gunpowder is used for fireworks now, its not the biggest leap for someone in her world to be like, hmmm what if we put a projectile in front of the fireworks and instead point it at a person/wall.

Is it possible? Yes it is. It actually happened like that historically iirc. Chinese used it for fireworks as cultural tradition to scare away demons on new years eve. Then the westerners came (ofcourse it needed to be the white angry man) saw it and created canons, bombs and guns from it and conquered the rest of the world with it. *rolls eyes*

Oviej • 1 month ago

I, personally, am not sold about her claiming she invented fireworks. It's like she is stealing the credit for the people who invented fireworks. But, whatever ...

MeguminExplosion • 1 month ago

Megumin approves of this black powder that which causes a reaction resulting in the almighty and superior explosion magics

Extio • 1 month ago

i cant get over that to make black powder, first you need to have experience with nitroglycerin. its unstable and too dangerous to work with, very explosive if you just drop the container. he made that worlds black powder without someone knowing about an explosive but dangerous substance...
TNT is what you get first though, after realizing how to make it stable...

Sakura2020 • 1 month ago

Maybe you are thinking about Dynamite ? That uses Nitroglycerin.
Black Powder is a lot easier to manufacture and not as volatile as Nitroglycerin. It was 1st developed ~900AD in China and consists of a mixture of sulfur, charcoal and potassium nitrate (saltpeter).
